Friday Letters

Dear Kindle,
I forgot how amazing you are sometimes.  This simple thing little electronic device can just suck me in.  Also, who would have thunk it?  To reference %'s done with instead of pages done, makes me chuckle.  It's crazy.

Also
Dear Amazon,
It's scary how well you know me. Every book, or item you recommend for me, I love.  Thanks for the ever growing shopping cart, and reading list.  I appreciate it, my bank account does not.

Dear Last Nights Dinner,
You were delicious.  Again, what did I do to contribute, um yeah set the table. I might be a little spoiled.

Dear Saturday,
You'll be spent at the office, but what can we do?

Dear Mid Week Holiday,
Not a fan. A Monday or Friday would be much more ideal.  Just keep that in mind.  Also I can't believe it's already been 2 years since I was in DC for the fourth.  Time flies.

Dear Lingering Blister,
It's been a week since Vegas and my feet still have not made a full recovery from those crazy shoes I danced in all night. Thanks for the daily reminder of the fun we had.

Dear 5am Boot Camp,
Ready or Not (next week) here I come.

Dear Zoey,
You are kind of catching on the the whole sitting on demand concept.  We'll get there.  Until then, I'll continue our morning walks, in hopes of improvement.

It's Okay Thursday: Round 2

 Hey, it's okay

That some work days are harder than others. I guess this is just part of doing the 'grown up thing'.

That my parents are moving out of the house I grew up in.  I am happy that another family (and kids) will get to spend years there, making great memories.  Plus home is wherever my family is.

See the top left window, that was my room!

That I single handily finished off every single skinny cow. By Myself.

To have a impromptu photo booth session with your squeemish puppy.

To not know if an out fit (below) looks good, but be too late to change into anything, and start the day anyway.  My bestie (here) would not approve, it is NOT flattering, Sorry Nadine :(

Pretty sure I look like I'm in my second trimester.
Rest assured, I am NOT.

That my eBay package was 'confirmed delivered' to my old address (my fault, I know) which, literally does not exist anymore.  USPS I have faith in you, don't let me down.

To be frightened that it's the Fourth of July already.  Seriously 2012, slow down. You deserve a speeding ticket!!!!

Looking Back: Scary & Safe

Here's something I've been thinking about recently.
Not sure why, or what sparked it, but it's been on my mind, so I figured I'd share with you all.

On the eve of my 21st birthday, 9/11/09, my dad had emergency open heart surgery.

I want to describe my Dad, because well, he deserves it.
He is possibly the best, most loving, supportive, funny, helpful, advice giving, life shaping, husband, brother, son, banker, employee, ski instructing, weekend project going, tractor driving, work outing, inspiring, respectful, Tahoe loving, and thoughtful Dad ever. He is my 'D'.  Leaving this list at this doesn't even touch the surface of who he is as a person, and although his laugh may sound just like mine, dying seal esqe, he is great at anything.

As a college senior, full time summer employee, sorority girl, and soon-to-be 21 year old. I am not sure it all hit me during the time it was happening.  It's not to say I did not feel emotions, but the fear wasn't in me.  I never thought, he might not make it.  Because in my mind that was not an option.

The surgerey started at 7am, and Mom and I were there (brother was still in the air, he couldn't get a flight early enough to be there before it started) during all the anestea.  I can't share with you exactly what he said to me, but it left me (and Mom) in tears.

Brother arrived at 8am, and the longest 6 hours of our lives passed, slowly as we sat together in the dull, drab, and sterile hospital waiting room where nurses and patients pass through as though nothing was happening.

He came out, and we saw him all wrapped up in the ICU.  And as expected, my perfectly healthy Dad came out and made a text book recovery.

Two short months later the family went to Disneyland to celebrate Dad's birthday, and as he calls it, his 'second life'.  And it was really just amazing to think that he was riding the roller coaster with no looking back.

D (My Dad) says, we 'share a birthday' I'm 9/12 and his (second) birthday is 9/11.

I love this.

He called the other day to set up a lunch date, just because.
He's the glue that keeps us all together.
I still have a long list of things to learn from him, so I'm glad he's here to teach me.

I Survived: Vegas Edition

Yes, we ALL survived, bride included.
Even after a Saturday night turned into a 5:30am Sunday morning.
Here is a photo summary of one VERY successful Bachelorette party.

New terms of the trip.

Struggs: Struggling on many accounts to do and/or accomplish a task, big or small.

Twaddle: A three finger brush on a butt cheek when attire of any kind (swim suite, dress, shorts, etc.) looks to be too short, or easily accessible.  A twaddle can be done by anyone, but is most appropriate amongst a group of girls, and not complete randoms in Vegas.

If and when you are next in Vegas. I challenge you to The Bucket (pictured below).  It's some sort of magical.

P.S. Why were we the ONLY group of girls applying sunscreen repeatedly at the pool?
Does every Vegas-goer want cancer?

Hope you all had a fun weekend too!!!

Friday Letters

Dear Laundry,
Why did I not do you last Sunday?  Weeknight laundry isn't fun AT ALL.

Dear 60+ Year Old Next Door Neighbor,
I too watch Keeping up with the Kardashians.  But it makes me laugh when I hear it coming from your TV too, because we are sooo different in age.  I hope when I retire I am still indulging in trashy reality TV.  And maybe when I am your age watching the Kardashians Kim will actually have a wrinkle.

Dear Linds,
I am so bummed I didn't get to see you while you were in town last weekend.  I want to tell you that when you envelope arrived, I smiled (as per usual).  Additionally the letter inside the manila envelope was my 21st birthday card. I enjoyed it more today than I would have on my actual 21st birthday.  I am glad it got returned to you, you found it two years later, and sent it.  Thanks for the necklace too! You must know me.

P.S. I miss you.
Get a good glimpse folks, High School (circa 2005) with Lindsay.
One of my best friends ever.

Dear Random Internet Image,
This could NOT be more true.

Dear Emily,
Thanks for kicking Douche Bag Ryan off. I know this isn't taped live, but I can't help but think you actually read my blog. Also if you are engaged to Arie, I would have mixed thoughts. Based on the teaser for next week I don't think you are. Don't let me down.

Dear Super Busy Week,
I think I have talked about you every day so far.  Here's the last mention. Even though I only worked 4 days, it felt like 5.  Thanks for for testing me, I hope I passed!

Dear Zoey,
I am going to miss you this weekend while I am in Vegas. On that note.

Dear Vegas,
Be kind.

It's Okay Thursday #1

It's Okay Thursday

Love THIS one from my bestie last week.  It made me laugh.

Here is my attempt.

...that I am not going to work tomorrow (VEGAS watch out). Everyone deserves a non-holiday three day weekend.

...that we bought these at Target this week.  We hadn't tried them yet.  We totally needed too.

...that I just bought our household an iron this week.  Some may ask how I survived before and I just say, "We have been supporting the local small businesses," i.e. dry cleaners.

...that whenever I take a picture of myself with my phone I look like a goober.  HOW do all you gals do such great outfit pictures yourselves? I just can't seem to get it right...

...that I claimed this was my 'protein for the day', when we all know it was really just a craving for chocolate milk.
are we seeing a chocolate trend here???

...that I take 45, 309 pictures of my puppy a day.  They are only little for so long.

....that Ali Fedotowsky is taking fashion advice from me.  Remember when I wore these shoes way back when. Can you say copy cat.  Just kidding. But I do LOVE her style!!!! And wouldn't mind having this exact outfit on my body right now.

...that I didn't get to work out as much this week.  Life happens.  Means double time next week.  Goodness knows I'll need it after this weekend.

....that I occasionally rock out to Musical Soundtracks.  Right now I am hooked on Wicked (who could not love this soundtrack?) and Moulin Rouge.  Just so good.

OOTH Leopard: An Outfit Pic

So here's the deal folks.  I am trying to be more 'fashioinalable' as I have said before.
Sometimes my attempts don't go quite as planned (read: old jeans and plain target tee), but sometimes I try new things. Like today.

After following many 'fashion' trends in magazines and manikins it was easy to tell fun necklaces are, as my Grandmother would say, "All the Go" now. So like I mentioned here, I went for it with some accessories at F21, or my case F23.

Also this shirt never fails to make a good day better.  I mean doesn't leopard print do that to any girl????

Love these 'skinny' dress pants.
Open back with a cami under. Does make for nice detail
Look at me I am a goober

Pants: The Limited Shirt: Franceascas Necklace&Bracelet: F21 Sandals: Target
Pants: The Limited (skinny work pants! Dec 2011)
Shirt: Franceascas (Dec 2011)
Necklace&Bracelet: F21
Sandals: Target (spring 2011)

Happy Hump Day Folks!

Sometimes Always #3

Sometimes: I come home to an awesome dinner like this
Always: Okay, so I really meant almost always.  I am pretty darn lucky.

Tri Tip, Home made Onion Rings, Rosemary Garlic Potatoes...

Sometimes: Zoey pees and poos in the house twice has a bad day.
Always: She's a puppy, it's inevitable.

Please don't wake up and chew on my computer charger.

Sometimes: I go to the dentist (twice a year to be exact)
Always: I am thankful that I started flossing regularly a couple years back.  Healthy gums correlate with a healthy heart, and I need that for a while. No cavities :) Yay!

Sometimes: My desk has sooooo many things on my desk, it's almost a joke.
Always: It makes me feel like an irresponsible adult.  Do I qualify as a grown up?

This is an average day...

Sometimes: On Sundays I do nothing but laundry, watch TV, and nap (and blog).
Always: I don't EVEN feel bad about it.  Isn't that what weekends are for? Relaxing?

Sometimes: My bestie (read more here) finds great anchor things like this at J.Crew (here)
Always: We will love anchors. Delta Gamma will do that to a girl.

Monday: Wants

 1.
I want this guy to be kicked off the Bachelorette tonight, even though I doubt it's going to happen.

Go Home Ryan
Who likes him anyways? He seems like a scum bag.  And who would say they wouldn't like someone if they weren't so fit??? I mean it might be true, but lets not go saying it in the first few weeks of a reality TV show.

2.
I want target to stop STEALING all my money

How did this little guy slip into the cart on Saturday???
Don't lie it's cute, and it was PERFECT for our appetizers on Sunday.

3.
I want to have a clean bill of health at the dentist tomorrow.
I don't have time (or $) for any cavities.
I've been cavity free for 23 years, lets keep it goin'.

4.
I would like want Zoey to catch on to potty training sooner.
 Any advice?
I've read pretty much everything online, and have employed every single technique.
I guess I have to remember, shes only been with us for 6 nights.
Just like anything it will take time.
But how can you not like this little one?

I know too many Zoey pictures. I'm sorry :/

5.
I want the new Emilly Giffin book to be out already.
It comes out July 24, 2012, and I pre-ordered it (here) month's ago.
Every book she writes, I LOVE.

I'm loosing patience.

6.
I want more hours in the day.
24 is just not enough.
Let's try 30, it would make me MUCH happier!!!

7.
I want my recent ebay goodies to arrive.
This one inspired me to try it out.
And low and behold, I 'won' two items.
Hope they're worth it!
I'll let you know when they come it :)

Hope you're all having a great Monday!!!
Gotta start the week off right!!!
