Dear Zoey,
You're so cute, it almost hurts.

Dear Dad,
I am bummed you aren't going to be in town this weekend. I am glad you'll be with Mom and Bro. Thanks for being the incredibly awesome, unfalteringly supportive, extremly patient, and great at giving advice.  It's exactly what you're crazy blonde haired 'little one' needs.

Thanks for coming on while Zoey and I were outside this morning.  It made her jump, bark, and then fall over.  It just  made me laugh.

Dear Weekend,
So glad you're here.  Now two uninterrupted days at home with my loves.

Second full day home and already going in her crate by herself.

Sometimes and Always

Sometimes:  New recipes don't work out :(

Always: There's another one to try, so don't worry.  Take 2 will be better.

Blueberry Muffins- they look good, but :(

Sometimes: I sneak bits of chocolate or ice cream in the kitchen before breakfast

Always: I feel good about it, why not start the day off right?

Sometimes: Texting during a business meeting makes me feel like I'm in Junior High again

Always: I think...at least I am not going to get detention???

Sometimes: I get inspired while getting my hair trimmed, and cut it Shorter!!

Always: It's a good decision, we all need a little change sometimes.

Sometimes: Getting ready to go in the morning takes longer than I think.

Always: I remember this is what I getting come back to.

Sometimes: Safeway disappoints me.

Always: Go girl > Red Bull. Get it right everyone and carry the pink 'beautiful energy' cans

Sometimes: Early morning runs are cut short

Always: I'm beating everyone still in bed

Sometimes: My purse is actually clean

Always: It makes me feel WAYYY too organized

Beer Fest 2.0

This year marks my second annual Brew Fest.

If there are a few great things about the particular Brew Fest we attend.

1. It's $30 bucks (and 4 hours)

2. It's ALL you can drink

3. It's in the mountains

We look forward it this event all year, and it didn't disappoint. 

It began looking like this.

 And ended looking- less collected shall we say.

You grew!!! Thanks for the cute Dr. Seuss stationary Mom! I love it.  If you know me at all it is very possible that you might find one of these in your mail box sometime soon.  Just wanted to prepare you all for the cuteness.

Golf = Good Time

Here is my something new this week: GOLF

Nope not mini golf, like I did last time (see here).  We're talking the real deal.  Eighteen Holes.

My boss called a week ago inviting me to play in a foursome: My response,"Sure, but I've never played before."  She assured me, "It'd be fun!"

Right she was.

The visor makes me look wayyy more serious!

Yesterday we played in a scramble (after each stroke you play from the best ball) tournament, and we had a blast.

If we weren't going to play well, you bet your bottom dollar we were going to 'look the part'.

There was nothing graceful about your swings or drives, but we did get some arc on the ball, AND  each of us had one clutch putt which made us feel great!

Something New 2.0- last week kick boxing this week, Golf!!!

As a side note: I feel like golf is one of those things that you need to be able to do decently because it happens a lot with business and work (i.e. clients, tournaments, sponsorships, etc.). So I decided I would start practicing.

We're (the foursome seen above) going to play once a month from now on!!!

Sometimes and Always

Sometimes: I forget to put of perfume.  (I have quite the collection, see here)
Always: I feel naked, which is dumb.  It's only perfume...

Sometimes: Sundays turn into impromptu BBQ's, game days, and baking extravaganzas.
Always: I remember how blessed I am to have such a great life!!!

Sometimes: I drop by my parents to say hi.
Always: I end up stay WAYYY longer than anticipated.  I just get to talking, and loose track of times.

Sometimes: US weekly does something awesome: like put someone in the hottest body section that doesn't look anorexic or super toned. (Hard to describe, see here)
Always: It makes me feel way better about myself.  Lets try to give our youth some positive body image.

Sometimes: I got to Safeway to get food for dinner.
Always: I come home with $50 worth of groceries, those club card 'specials' get me.

Sometimes: We watch live TV
Always: We remember why we don't do it.  Those commercials are just too darned long.

Sometimes: I try new things...stay tuned tomorrow's post
Always: I am excited to try them!!!

Summer Concerts

Nothing quite like a Local (three blocks from the house), Free (and still fun), Summer (gotta love the weather) Concert!!!!

We went yesterday with some family and friends and ended up seeing another great friend there.  We did wine in red cups (keepin' in Really Classy), crackers, cheese, and some cold left overs for dinner.

It was a full house shall we say- check it out below!!! 

If there is a summer concert series around you, go, just remember a blanket, snacks, and good company.

Celebrities My Age

So I have been reading my newest US weekly, both hard copy and iPhone app (it's free people, if you don't have it, get it!) and I have been thinking about celebrities my age... It's actually SCARY

Vanessa  Hudgens:
Remember her from High School Musical??? Yeah, that young innocent thing sure has gone through a thing or two.  Years of dating Zac Efron, yes I am still sad they are not still together, her online nudey scandal, and her new boho chick style.  I would like to see her come out with another big hit.  Zac did it, why can't she???

Emma Stone:
OK, home girl is a bad ass.  Almost every movie she is in, is great. Super Bad, The Help, Crazy Stupid Love, House Bunny... I can't say anything bad about you.  You have great style, and have really shaped into a classy lady.  Side note, I wish I had your voice- you've got that smokey thing going on.  And it's great.

Honestly, how many number one hits has this girl had???  And HOW does she know so much about effed up relationships and love?  Because almost every hit she has revolves around that.  I admittedly do purchase most of her hits and add them to my current running mix, so the girls doing something right.  I did NOT like her when she was blond. 

The list goes on. 

But I honestly can't believe that in the years I have lived, I have grown up, gone to college, and gotten a job that I really, honestly enjoy.  I feel like with all that I have been beyond busy.  How have these ladies had time to make pop hits, and movies?  I think my life is a full time job.

Here I am... How do I stack up???? I feel successful, happy, fun loving, caring, and fulfilled.  I guess that means I am doing great!  Really ladies.  Congratulations.  You have sufficiently made me feel inferior.

It was so good to see you.  I am glad that you came to visit.  I guess some things never change- last night made for some great laughs, and funny stories.  Thanks for ordering the pitcher of Sangria with me, ordering me a name-less shot, and playing Apples to Apples.  You being back makes me happy.  you and Julie were great roommates, and some of the best friends I could ask for!

You came just in time.  I hope your short and sweet.  I can't wait for the weekend, even though I have nothing special planned.  I have a inkling that you're going to be longer than I want you to be based off last nights impromptu bar crawl....

I am sorry you accidentally spilled your entire bottle of water on the bed last night.  I am not sorry that it is on your side.  I am washing the sheets as we speak, and you are still sleeping.  I am JUST that good.

I think you might have saved my life this morning.  

Dear Apples to Apples,
You've got a good thing going for yourself.  You are fun to play with anyone, at any time.  Last night we played at 1am, after coming home from the bar, and you rocked.  Congratulations, you are one of three games that we own.  You made the cut.

Dear Wardrobe,
Sometimes I wish you could choose my outfits for me. It would make my mornings less of a struggle, and probably get me a work a smidge earlier every day.  Consider it, pretty please.  Oh and if you do choose to dress me, make me stylish and cute- Thanks!

Dear Glen and Nadine,
Congrats on the jobs.  I've always had confidence in you both.  I hope you grow to love your new offices.  Sometimes change is good.  Knock 'em dead.  Remember, "You've gotta fake it to make it." Wear your power suit, or Nadine your favey necklace.

 

Try Something New

My try new things trio (and co workers Kara and Kerry) have talked me into TWO new 'fitness' activities this year.

The first was a eight month stint of pole dancing, yup I said it, pole dancing. It was a blast but came to an end after I tumbled, okay flailed off the pole landing in a pretzel-ed mess on the ground 'displacing' two ribs. Don't worry the sustained injuries were not serious, and were cured with one quick $35 trip to the chiropractor.

This morning we tried our NEWEST fitness adventure- Cardio Kickboxing!!!

We went before work, thinking it'll be easy- It was our first class after all.

Forty five minutes and a head of what hair later, we all needed a little more than a 'freshen up'.

It was a blast though- punching and kicking it out to loud pop remixes.

The wrist wraps and gloves made me feel like a true bad ass, even though I know I'm not.  During the warm up alone my coordination skills were challenged, and that's not even touching the punching, kicking, elbowing combos.

Bad Ass maybe not, Lame-0 for wanting a picture, yup!!!!

We're excited to go back though, this Groupon was for TEN classes (including hand wraps and gloves), so I've got more time to develop my punching rhythm and kicking technique.  

Needless to say we all decided it was an AFTER work activity.
