The Hypotheical 'Today'

Play along with me for a second.
Pretend like you didn't have to work today..what would you do?
Here's my answer.

If I didn't have to work today... Man, that'd be great, wouldn't it???
(I actually really like my job, but a weekday weekend is sometimes fun!!!)

This is what I would do.

First, I'd sleep in.
And go for a run around 7am.
Then I'd take a long shower (and probably get around to shaving my legs,
it's spring, I need to do that now, right???).

Please note, I do not look like this when I shave.
It's not a graceful, elegant thing. At all.

I'd probably make the bed, instead of throwing up the blanket, and tossing the pillows a the top and calling it good. And I'd probably sit, eat breakfast, and read blogs for a little longer than normal.

And then I'd go crazy.
First I'd probably stop by the Nordstrom semi-annual sale and grab this little gem. (I am thinking I might actually need this, what do you think???)

and then I'd got to Joanns to get all the fabric and notions needed for this DIY project.
I've been wanting to make these for a while.
And I am going to; I will make these.
And I'd probably grab a Iced Green Tea Latte along the way.
Don't fear the green-ness, it's simply delicious.
I'd come home and probably watch an episode of Real Housewives, because I am undoubtedly a episode (or two) behind.  (Gosh I love her!!!)
 Via
And I'd have grand plans of starting the project, but that's for a Sunday when the boyfriend is laying on the couch watching TV and I need something to do, so I'd put it off, and kindle (the new word for read).
I'd probably get lost in the book, so lost in fact that I'd fall asleep in bed with my glasses on, and my boyfriend would come in see me, and cover my toes with the blanket.

My nap would probably last an hour, and then I'd be woken up by this little wet nose to my face, hinting that she's ready to go for her walk, and I'd be excited to take her.
Then I'd get home from my walk, and my boyfriend would have dinner ready.
It'd be delicious because it's delicious, and because it's something I didn't have to make.

And then we'd sit out by the fire and drink beer and wine, and chat.
Until we were bored, or until Zoey had successfully smelled every.single.last.thing. in the backyard.
Then we'd get in bed, and watching criminal minds or modern family, but who I am trying to fool, we'd watch both, and we'd fall asleep.

It'd be delightful.

But today will be great anyways because I have 5am bootcamp, a busy day at work,
and a ladies night (and lawrd knows those are awesome).

So I guess I don't have much to complain about.

What would you do with your Hypothetical Thursday??

What I Wore: Beautiful Nail Edition

My first manicure, ever, was this past year.
Remember when I wrote about it here???

Well I have since fallen in love with this self indulgent pampering,
but realize I can't do it ALL the time.
After a few, my nails get a bit tattered, and it's money I don't NEED to spend.

So when browsing Target the other day, I was attracted to these little friends.
Essie Nail Stickers

I've heard about them, and wondered just how well they work.
I bought the ones you see on the left (with the sparkles), and did a 'test set' of nails.
And as silly as I thought it sounded, you literally stick these bad boys on.

It's not my best effort.
I'm new to this whole process, but I will say, it's much easier than painting.
And, it looks pretty darn good!!!

Overall I am very happy with them.
They still look like they did on day on one on day three, which is more than I can say
about my self manicure efforts; they are chipped without a doubt by day two in the first ten hours.

They are a smidge pricey, $9 for a set, but it beats the price of a manicure.
I would say they are worth trying.
Especially for a specials events, parties, or celebrations.

Have any of you ever tried the nail stickers???
What did you think??

P.S. I am dying to try those leopard ones...

NYE: Now and Then

This was Then...

Last NYE this is where I was.

This is what I was doing.

And this is what the evening looked like.

This is Now...

This NYE this is where I am.

This is what I am doing.

This is what I am wearing.

Oh, how things change, remember what a difference a year can make from this post???
But hey, I'm excited to be comfy and cozy bringing in the new year.
Those heels hurt my feetsies last year, and the crowds were tremendous.
I have VIP tickets to a fireside seat, no waiting required.

Hope you're happy with whatever your plans are!!!
Here's to a great 2013!!!

I Survived: Austin Edition

Remember when I told you that ALL my best friends live far away here????
Well this weekend was our 'musketeer reunion', Austin style.

Since two of us live on the Coasts (East and West) and our third musketeer lives in Texas, we decided to meet in the middle.

The trip was a little bit of a whirlwind (I arrived on Friday and left Saturday), BUT it was worth every. single. minute.
The three of us had not been together for a year and a half.
So happy to see these ladies.
The reunion made us realize, some things never change, no matter how much time has passed!

You know the trip is going to be good when your first 'meal' after the airplane is a baked chocolate and fruit covered donut.

OHHH, only in Texas.

And to answer the question I hope all of you are asking yourselves, Yes I ate the whole, entire thing.

24 hours in Austin have been well spent when you:
Feel swampy in the first seconds out the airport doors
Hear the y'all, and love it
Eat a heart attack dounut as a 'warm up' for dinner
Shop your way down South Congress
Eat gumbo and a shrimp po boy
Bar Crawl down Sixth Street
Wake up sweating in the middle of the night
and
Eat the most incredible breakfast

Hope you all had a GREAT weekend!!!
No matter where you were :)

Just to Review: The 4th of July

This five day weekend, turned mini vacation, was in fact the best decision I have made all summer.  Granted summers only been about two weeks, but none the less.  Love these lake summer days.

Here is a play by play.
4:30am- wake up and sit in line for beach front territory
8am- go for a morning jog (it's harder than I thought it would be in this altitude)
9am- head back down to the beach for boating, lounging, and hanging out.
9:01am-9:29pm eat (and drink) too much for comfort
9:30pm- fireworks
10:30pm- smores

I think most people make smores on the fourth, am I wrong?

Can't have a holiday with out the proper Toms

This is at 10:30am.  Already starting the day right!
Soooo many new people, I'm tired
We gave him a tail.  Can't loose a 1 year old that glows.
Our fourth of July 'Swag'

Cousins :)
Best show I've seen the mountains

Hope you all had a festive, happy, healthy, and safe holiday.

I Survived: Vegas Edition

Yes, we ALL survived, bride included.
Even after a Saturday night turned into a 5:30am Sunday morning.
Here is a photo summary of one VERY successful Bachelorette party.

New terms of the trip.

Struggs: Struggling on many accounts to do and/or accomplish a task, big or small.

Twaddle: A three finger brush on a butt cheek when attire of any kind (swim suite, dress, shorts, etc.) looks to be too short, or easily accessible.  A twaddle can be done by anyone, but is most appropriate amongst a group of girls, and not complete randoms in Vegas.

If and when you are next in Vegas. I challenge you to The Bucket (pictured below).  It's some sort of magical.

P.S. Why were we the ONLY group of girls applying sunscreen repeatedly at the pool?
Does every Vegas-goer want cancer?

Hope you all had a fun weekend too!!!
