Five Small Things that are Better with your Bestie

If you haven't already heard that I spent Thursday thru Monday morning with this one you've probably been living under a rock you're probably dead.

And what does a Bestie make better. Simply everything.

1. Target Trips
When in college, I for sure spent exponentially more money (and time) at Target when I went with her.  But I just can't seem to find gems like pleather peplums, BB cream, and the perfect lip gloss without her.

2. Car Concerts
Life Rule: When driving in a car, you are invisible to the world, so the moment when someone catches you rockin' out solo to the next overproduced overplayed hit, it's embarrassing. But when you're with your bestie, no shame.  It transforms from a embarrassing solo to a effing awesome duet.

3. Wine
Need I say more. Four bottles later the night we 'stayed home' may have needed the most Gatorade and ibuprofen in the morning.

4. Snuggling
Three years later, it still feels totally normal to share a bed with her, despite the fact that I have been co-habituating with my boyfriend for close to two years.  In college no less than two three drunk nights a week ended with two blondes, one bed.

5. Getting Dressed
Getting dressed alone is like getting dressed in the dark.  Unless my outfit has been copied off pinterest or inspired by a blog, I'll be lookin' a hot mess, or I'll text her to see what she thinks.  It's so much easier when she's here.

5 Things that are Better in the Summer

Summer is exponentially better than most all seasons,
except maybe winter for the skiing, but for now we'll just agree it's better.
So here are five things that are better in summer.

1.  Reading-
sure curling up by the fire and reading sounds fun, but I usually end up falling asleep. Give me a lounge chair by the pool or lake, and a book, and it's like I blink and I've finished the book.  I love it. Super relaxing, and getting a tan while doing it. It's simply called multitasking.

2. Going to the Movies-
Let's not pretend like the movies are 'enjoyable' in winter.  Who wants a cherry slurpee when it's raining outside? Also why must theaters run the air conditioners year round? Lay off the AC in the winter Signature Six, it's just no necessary. But when it's triple digit heat, going to the movies is AMAZING.  Plus don't all the good movies come out during summer anyways? Insert Superman, Wolverine, Planes, and

3. Walks-
I love walking Zoey, try to do it every day. Though when it's cold, and I can see my breath (it doesn't even snow where I live, and overall we have mild temperatures, you Mid-Westerners are hating me right now) it's hard to find motivation to get out there and walk.  Summer is always more fun, there are more people out, everyone is happy, and you don't have to wear rain boots or a parka.

4. Dinner Dates-
Sitting outside, need I say more. When the waitress asks, 'inside or outside', it's a no brainer, outside.
In winter it's not an option. I LOVE sitting outside.

5. Road Trips-
Traveling someplace by car isn't always fun, but when you can have your windows down, and awesome upbeat 'sing along songs', eight hours feels more like two and just like that you are at your destination, no worse for the wear.

Also get out there and enjoy summer, it won't last forever.

The 'Morning After' Advice

It's almost Friday, and that is simply amazing.
We're heading out to a Brew Fest this weekend!!!!
(follow me on instagram for the play by play)
As if summer isn't great enough already lets add Drinking Festivals.
While this weekend is a 'Brew Fest', I have a feeling the weekend might include more dranks like strawbertias, (....mojitos, fireball, JD, and all other alcoholic beverages).
via
I'm not trying to foreshadow any events of this weekend, but last year at the Brew Fest, I ended up finding blueberry beer and drinking eight of them, eatin' my body weight in chips and guacamole, and brought almost an entire bowl home on my shirt.  When we got home we were convinced we were locked out, until seventeen thirty one phone calls and a set of keys (that were in our pocket the entire time) were found.
Yeah, it's gonna be a good weekend.

So I'm preparing to go thru the eight step 'morning after' drinking process...

Take a Purse Inventory
It might have gotten crazy on the dance floor,  and things may have gone flyin'.
Be sure you have all your cards, your ID, phone, camera, and anything else you might have brought out with you.

Shower Up
Simple, I know, but it's likely your hair, breath, and body smell with the lingering staleness of beer, sweat, and possibly cigarettes.  Additionally there may be some stamps on your hand. You need to eliminate all of these things, as fast as possible.  A shower is the only cure.

Do 'Damange Control' on your Phone
Check your phone to affirm what you don't know might not know from the night before.
See if you did the standard girl 15 texts and seven phone calls to that 'special' someone (unless of course you were with them). If you have it's probably easiest just to delete the evidence (delete all the texts and calls from your phone) and call it good.

Hydrate
G2's are really the best thing to drink, and while your drinking it, swig down a ibuprofen or two (or four) to properly prepare the inevitable headache.

Check Your Bank Account
Check your bank account, lezbehonest, you probably bought a few more kamikazes fireball shots than you thought.

Comfy Cozy Up
Put on your most comfiest, coziest, pajama like yoga pants and tank/shirt.
Anything that feels more like pajamas and less like actual clothes MUST happen.

Eat...
something greasy. Breakfast burritos, Starbucks breakfast sandwiches, and bagels often do the trick.
I also enjoy goldfish, white cheddar cheese its, and

 Lounge
Sit down on the couch only after setting up your 'station'. G2, water, salty snack, and phone all on the coffee table. This way you're set up for hours, and don't have to move anywhere for hours all day.

Hope you all have a Great Weekend!!!!

P.S. I just watched Princess Dairies this week (it was on TV, and I was reminded of just how great that movie is.  Did you know that Christina from Greys Anatomy is also in Princess Diaries? I had NO IDEA!

Lists & Manicures

A girls first manicure.

It's kind of a big deal for a girl who didn't even paint her nails until she was 23.
I went for it with the gel nail polish - and damn they look good.
So there is a reason people pay someone else to do this.
So my advice to any skeptics is: Gel it Up.

On another note.
I have some big news.
I've become a list person.
I know I am a little late to this concept of making lists and crossing things or items off one by one.
But it feels so good and keeps me on track.

I actually feel like its going to save money and increase productivity at the same time simotaneousky (I know big words!!)

This weekend alone I made five lists.
Costco list
Grocery store list
Weekend project list
Need to do for the house this week list
And
Another grocery store list
Take that lists, I'll show you!!!
And the first three are all done!!!

Now you may be wondering was a manicure (cough and pedicure) on the list????
The answer is no.
But it made for a great "reward" for being so productive.

I know that most of us bloggers are 'high achievers' or in fewer words 'doers'.
So you probably all already make lists.
Which makes this post null in void, BUT since I JUST started I thought I would share it with you.

So here is a list to share

 Disney Princess Color Book Obession
Hockey Girls Story
