Friday Letters

Dear County Fair,

You made for a fun Thursday evening.  Everything I ate was fried last night, and I feel pretty. darn. good. about. it.  Then I followed all that up with a milk shake. Also saw some local FFA goats, cows, and horses.  We might just go again this weekend.

Dear Possum,
I thought you were a nocturnal creature.  When I saw you strolling down the street during my morning run, you scared me.  Also you were WAY bigger then I thought you would be, I hope you don't frequent my back yard.

Dear Operation Install Refrigerator,
WOW fridges are HEAVY.  Way heavier than I thought.  Good news is we'll never have to move you again, you're in your home.  Bad news, you're currently empty :( More good news our shopping trip this weekend is going to be epic!  Get ready Safeway, here we come!

Blurry, but yes I helped move this MONSTER this morning
Dear Cara,
I'm glad you are okay. Yesterday was a bit scary, I must say.  Just a reminder that we ALL have A LOT to be thankful for.  Doesn't mean we will stop the good thoughts and prayers for others.  Life is a gift.

Dear Three Day Weekend,
Enough. Said. It's THREE whole DAYS!!!! But more importantly thank you to all those who have served for us, and those who still are.  Truley admirable and respectable. Thank you Grandpa and Uncle Jim.

Dear Summer,
You and I have LOTS of plans. I think you'll be fUn and VERY busy!!! But better busy then bored.

Sunday Snapshot: A Great Weekend

This weekend we went to Six Flags; we got season passes!!!  (they were only $10 more than a day pass, and it's only 45minutes from us, so we figured if we go one more time, it's totally worth it)  It was AWESOME!!!!

My boyfriend reminded me on the way that it was the only park in the United States that was also a Zoo, but when we got there I was still shocked to see the dolphins, tigers, giraffes, sharks, the butterfly garden, lions, etc.

If you have a Zoo near you, get out there and GO! It's one of those activities I rarely think to do, but always enjoy!

Hi Friends!!!

I enjoyed the butterfly garden most, just one LARGE room with hundreds of butterflies dancing around you.  They are so beautiful in a dainty, graceful, delicate way.  Wish I embodied those qualities- unfortunately none of those apply to me :/.

It was a day with lots of walking (I didn't forget remembered sunscreen :)), exhibit on looking, roller coaster screaming, and fair like food- read corn dog, beer, and fries.  I was sucked in by the Dip 'n Dots...remember those? Ice cream of the future.  They were just as delicious as I remember.

We got home napped, and decided to extend the fun with Avengers. See a great movie review (from my Bestie) here.  I'm not normally one for going to see a movie in theaters twice, but I would go again.  It was part comedy meets extreme action/awesome.

Here a taste of my weekend.

Hope you had a good one!!!!

What did you do this weekend?

Is tomorrow really Monday?

Thursdays: In or Out

Shuffle Board: In

I know I might be tardy to this party, but yes I JUST discovered shuffle board this week!!!!  Why don't all bars have this game?  It is easily more enjoyable and interactive than  pool Billiards.  And what a simple concept- push a small puck like object to the end of the table without falling off...really how much more creative can you get? I will say, for a newbie I played pretty well, I lost 10-8 to my bf.  If you have not played before, open a new tab and google the bar closest to your current location that has shuffle board and get a pushin'.

Pliny the Elder (beer): Out

Still not sure what it is about this beer that I haven't yet grown to love, but I will keep trying it until I do.  This beer has Tip Top Reviews (see here), and for those of you who have enjoyed this 8% IPA, you are more than likely in love with it.  There are only two restaurants that serve it in our area, other than that I have heard you can pick it up at BevMo.  Today I was reminded that I don't like it when I tried a sip during happy hour.  Call me an amateur beer drinker if you'd like, but I'll take my Blue Moon please.

Weekday Weekends: In

Rarely am I sick, and rarely do I take PTO (other than vacations....Oh Mexico....), but when your Saturdays are work days no weekend is really the same.  So I did a swap out- and made this Thursday my Saturday- a Weekday Weekend.  It was great.  I slept in, ate breakfast in bed, cuddled watched the news, kindeled in bed.  Then I went for a leisurely run, enjoyed some lunch at a new restaurant, played Frisbee in the park, and finished the day off with a girls night out (dinner and movie-see below).   I am certain I couldn't do this every day, but today it felt great.

The Lucky One: In

I will say I called this one.  I KNEW Zac Efron was going to be smokin' hot and super successful the moment he entered the Disney spotlight with High School Musical.  What pre-teen or teen could resist him in that movie trilogy?  Now that he (and his body) have grown up and matured....DAMN, his acting is great too might I add.  As I would advise with any book turned movie, read the book before you see it (the book will likely take you less than two days).  But seriously GO SEE this movie.
