First Good Hair Day of the Year

I was in a serious Easter candy coma the past few days and just couldn't make it over to these little keys of mine to write.  Something about going forty days without desserts and then indulging in a unidentified amount of sweets, candy, cake, and ice cream was a really bad idea.  But I am alive, and have worked out twice in the past 24 hours; full on damage control has commenced.

Yesterday was marked as my first good hair day of 2014, except when I got my hair blown out professionally.  But every knows a hair salon hair dos/styles are like handfuls of chocolate chips before breakfast, they don't count.  It's like the fake good hair day, I could never make my hair look like they can, just like the how cloths on the mannequin never look quite as good when they are actually on a person.

I can't even tell you exactly what I did different, but I am going to try bottle it up and sell it in a jar.  Or more likely figure out exactly how to have a good hair day more than once a quarter.  The odds are definitely not forever in my favor.  But I picked up some of this stuff at Target, which I have read works small hair miracles, so maybe just maybe I am taking steps in the right direction.

And while we are talking about hair, just know that I am desperately trying to grow mine out.  I have taken serious advice from the bestie who mastered how to grow hair out fast, and I also told my Grandma (who has more good juju than a Grandma) that she could send all her good vibes my way. It feels a little bit ridiculous growing my hair out, just to chop it all off again, but ridiculous is something I strive to be at times, so it is somehow appropriately fitting.

Limited Washing.
Taking vivisal.
Doing coconut oil treatments.
Getting it trimmed regularly.
Praying to the hair gods
And staying realistic.

I'm not going to be Rapunzel by October, but if I can get a good two to three more inches and three to four good hair days between now and then, I'd be happy.

Chopped.

For those that follow me here already know I chopped my hair off, this whole birthday thing my be hitting me harder than I thought.  How does someone with short hair have four inches to cut? My hair dresser is the only one who will ever know.  But I love it, and am just a wee bit sad that buns may no longer be possible. I won't give up without a valiant attempt, pinkie promise.
Among other things, this weekend marks the first weekend of the official NFL season, which means I'll attend my normal one or two games (courtesy of my boyfriends family), and I'll love every single beer and second of football (and tailgating).  No but seriously we always have a blast.

This is the first of two (or maybe three) consecutive four day works weeks, which no one can complain about.

It took me five years of having an iPhone to finally crack a screen. It happened when I was getting out of the car in my very own driveway, now tell me how did this not happen during the years of drunken escapades at the bars in college? Maybe the 5s is in my future?

It's Friday, and we're going to my parents for dinner...and I can't even wait for it. Homemade apple pie. Just stop right now...it is 5:30 yet?

Keep Your Blonde, Blonder

I wish I were telling you the truth when I said this picture was taken today, but it wasn't
It was taken two damn weeks ago.
Roots - 5
Kaylin - 0

How did they get so out of control?
I'm not even sure.

But in $120 dollars and 5 hours, I'll be back to blonde,
just the way I like it.

If only I could will my hair to grow out the color I wanted it.
In efforts to combat the never ending root issue- I bought purple shampoo.
Supposedly it will help tone the roots and keep the dyed blonde, blonder and less ashy.

With summer on the way, and hopefully many lazy days by the lake,
the roots should be a none issue because of the sun....

or at least lets hope so.

Now Seeking: Hair Advice

Okay so I have reached this 'stuck point' with my hair.
You know what the stuck point is, because you've had it before.
It's where you don't know whether to dye it, cut it, let it grow, get bangs, or go all natural.

I've done the long and blonde.

Then I cut it

Then I cut it again.

It's finally growing out again, kinda...

But I don't know what to do.

Two seconds later I think bangs, but I just finished growing these out.

So I was thinking maybe I shouldn't 'undo' what I just did.

So what do you think I should do???
I'm leaning towards low lights (still blonde, duh) and grow it out.

Yes?
No?

HELP
please.

In or Out

I know you probably saw my post yesterday, but can't say it enough

Nordstrom Semi Annual: IN

Who couldn't love this sale??? Here are a few things I am eyeing.

So versatile- buy here
Classy and Fabulous- buy here

Miley Cyrus: OUT

Check out this getup she wore the other day.  Really Miley? Let's do a little better next time.  Also ever since Party in the USA, you've done what exactly?  Last Song?  Not at all impressed.  Way to get them buzzing this week Miley...check out the gossip here.  I'm over you.  Make another over produced and over played pop beat, and maybe I'll get back on your team.

Heather of Real House Wives of OC: IN

I am always skeptical when a new girl joins the crew.  I remember the days when Jeana was part of the crew, Gretchen had small boobs, and Tamera rod Harleys in pink bandanas with Simon.  But Heather has been a great addition, after all she might be married to a plastic surgeon but shes 98% real (and doesn't cook).  I love this season.  OC is the best, forget New York and New Jersey, you are just wannabes.  And Heather keep rockin' it out, and keep being feisty with Alexis, I love it!!!

Dry Shampoo: IN

I haven't used any before, but have heard rave reviews.  So I gave this one a try, cheap, nice bottle, and recommended by Jeanna from Life of a Wife, figured it had to be great. Sure enough it is great.  And as noted in Day Book, dry shampoo helps hair hold style and curl better.  Loving this these days.

 Three day weekend, WHAT?

Middle Part?

I decided it was time for a throw back, so I gave the middle part shot this morning.

My hair totally not used to being parted like this  has not rocked a middle part since second grade.

What's happening with that right side?

So clearly the right side needs some taming, so I might need to try this a little more often to perfect it.
But at least my backside curls ended up complete.  I always struggle with getting my entire head curled.  It's embarrassing when your boyfriend asks you, "Are you going to curl the back?"

Take that back of my head

Also found this shirt at Kohl's, during my maiden voyage Kohl's shopping trip this weekend, and I love the top.  Overall I must admit Kohl's was a disappointment.  I feel a little bit over promised under delivered.  I am thinking it might be a little bit hit or miss ??? Please advise.  But Lauren Conrad got to me with this shirt, so I didn't walk out empty handed.

Also for those of you who have been waiting.  Yup Christmas is here.  The Semi Annual:

Happy Hump Day
