If my life were a musical....

I have exactly two dance moves.
That is until I am drunk I have had a couple of drinks, and then, game on.
I'll dance to ANYTHING, ANY SONG.

And somehow on a totally unrelated note,
this made me realize that if I my life were a musical, it'd be a little silly.
I would totally rock out my two dance moves to any of these songs.
(Remember my undying love for him??)

The first music I was ever really 'into', was the Top Gun soundtrack.  Amazing what a brother four years older will get you hooked on.  Mom and Dad say when he was six and watching Top Gun at least once a week, I would attempt to sing along to 'Danger Zone'. Man I wish they had that on video.

Then I progressed to 'The Disney Phase', okay so admittedly, this phase is still happening, but what does that matter right???  The summer of 1994 was spent on a four week road trip from California to Montana and back, and the Lion King tape probably played for 96.493% of the trip.
Who doesn't love to sing, 'I'm Gonna be a Mighty King' seven times in a row at the top of your lungs??? The answer my older brother.

Then we fall into the classics phase. Mom somehow get her eight year old hooked on Grease, good one. How was I supposed to know that singing "...Look at me I'm Sandra-dee lousey with virginity..." on the way into church was inappropriate. I didn't know the darn meaning, sorry for making you look like a terrible Catholic mother Mom.  As a side note when I watch this movie now I realize, it's basically the original American Pie.

The nerd in me took over in fourth grade, and I missed the Spice Girl phase (though I am a full fledged Spice Grils lover now), and stuck mostly to stamp collecting.  Whoa, that's something you guys didn't need to know.

I bought my first CD using my allowance money, and so I was rockin' out to N'SYNC's first album.  It was three solid months before I could afford another CD, which was inevitably Back Street Boys. Both of whom I later saw in concert (with my Mom). Thanks for that by the way, Mom you're a trooper for letting me explain to you that JC was going to be my husband, while I was wearing jean overalls and a pink shirt from Mervyn's.

Junior High came around and out went the stamp collection, and Nelly was in the house, Taking off all his clothes. Usher had some rockin' slow jams too. (BTW daymn that man is still good lookin').

High School was a entire mixture of music. It was mostly Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts, but this is also when my love for Akon really started.  I also had a fling with High School Musical that may have last through college, just maybe though.

On more 'emotional days' (how does one have these when you're 16, I'm not even sure) but it was Maroon 5, and the Garden State sound track, oh and let's just top that off with The Fray, How to Save a Life.  Seriously have pathetic was I?? 

Then there was college which was basically about how loud you could blast your music (read frat parties) no matter what that music was, but a few that stick out of Soulja Boy, Just Dance, Party in the USA, and Forever.

And now I am all about anything that I can sing rock out to.

So mostly Country and Overproduced Pop Music.

And I am not even ashamed of it.

So the past three days, I've been listening to 'Forever21 music' AKA the new Tegan and Sara album.

It's pretty much flawless.

And the reason I call it F21 music is because it is very much the type of music you'd hear if you were shopping there.  Have you ever realized it's never quiet in there??? I'm sure you have...
Although sometimes I think silence might make those bright colors and skinny mannequins more bearable.

The Book

I finished the book, I Suck at Girls last week.

It was freaking hilarious. Like I laughed out loud too many times to count funny.
The stories that Justin told from his life were such simple anedotes of exactly what I would think growing up as a boy would be like, if you had Tosh as a Dad.

I won't ruin if for you, you can't really ruin a book that has no true 'end' or 'what happens' because it's just stories from his life.  But with a Dad with a dry and synical sense of humor the teenage experiences and learning of life lessons are more comical.

I read chapters in what seemed to be minutes, and it was as if I blinked and the book was gone.  One of those books that was effortless to read, and hilarious to think about.
 If you're looking for an easy read and a good laugh, I would recommend this.

The Guest: Brianne

Anyways I was browsing though news blogs the other day and found Brianne.

 Yup, it might be love at first blog. Or love as first sight, but I was so excited to have met her, in some sort of way.  We're not blog friends!

I was so excited when Kaylin asked me to come over and visit in her house of blog!  I’ve been stalking reading Kaylin’s blog for quite some time now and am so thrilled to have become blogging buds.  We both are California girls and she pretty much had me at her first post of leopard.  Is this girl’s style amazing or what?!  Be sure to come on over to my neck of the woods tomorrow to check out Kaylin’s awesome visit!

Oh, sorry, I guess I might be going on too much about my “leopard lova”…so I’ll touch on a little tid bit about myself…

I am 25 years old and celebrating 1 year, this Saturday, of a life with a new last name.  My hubby and I are enjoying the adventures of being new homeowners and raising a now 4 month old pup, Bella, and her sister, Lacey “the furry pants”, cat.  With the new home, I have taken a liking to home décor and DIY projects. (Let’s just say my Pinterest boards are over flowing with ideas).  I also enjoy opening myself to new styles and not being afraid to try new trends I tend to like.

I seriously adore these green skinny jeans… I just want to continue to grow my colored skinny jean collection...And for $10 at TJ Maxx?? I couldn't pass them up!

Stacy Keibler: IN

George has dated some question marks in the past- but Stacy, I think she is a keeper.  From what I have seen of her recently she is classy, timeless, and the perfect compliment to Clooney's seemingly age defying looks.  I love her in this dress, but lets be honest she looks good in anything.  Hope these two last.  And certainly hope we see more of her.

Dance Again- Jennifer Lopez featuring Pit Bull: IN

As much as I don't like Jennifer's new beau, I DO like her new song and video.  Watch here.  Damn she is bangin', Hope I can look as good as her when I am her age, but I guess a personal trainer, stylist, cook, and hair dresser would do that.  She is really getting out there though with her 'brand': American Idol, and her new show South Beach Tow.  Way to go J. Lo- you're rocking it- but please dump your boyfriend and hang out with your cute twins!!

Gmails 'New' Look: OUT

Okay so it's not so new anymore, but just when I get used to a website it changes.  Getting to my folders and gchat now is a lot more work.  Or so it seems.  Just like getting used to timeline, I guess I have to do it.  But when Nordstrom changed their website I almost went it to cardiac arrest.  Stop doing this to me people - If I can't keep up at my age, how am I going to when I am older??? 

Vegetable Chopper: IN

I am not a good dicer.  I can slice just fine, but dicing is a whole other issue.  My boyfriend and I are often easily influence and awed by infomercials.  So we went for it.  I love it.  Makes chopping things so much easier- It's not good for tomatoes (learned that one the hard way), but it great for garlic and onion.  Less crying and more success :) Gotta love that!!!  You can find it at Target, what can't you find there?

Thursday: IN or OUT

Justin Bieber's New Single Boyfriend- IN

And J. Biebs has done it again (listen here). Another catchy, trendy, beat that will be played out on the radio in the next two weeks. We were listening to it in the car the other day and a friend commented, "About time he does it (a wrap/talking), if you are a product of Usher, you can't just NOT do it." I agree with my friend, and also want to note that Mr. Bieber is growing up, if you were to mirror his career with B. Spears, he's in the 'I'm a Slave for You' Phase...anyone agree?

Starbucks- OUT-

I can't quite remember when it happened, but 'Starbs' raised their prices again, and not it's just too much. A nice $5 gift card buys one drink with 15 cents change left on it. No thanks. These days, as noted here, I am caffine free (for the most part, I have my occasional mid week Go Girl), and the want/need for Starbucks has diminished. Also I just can't believe what they are charging per drink- Dunkin' is WAY better, and WAY cheaper- is it too much to ask for them to be on the West Coast. But all things being fair, we have In 'n Out so I guess I can't complain.


White Jeans- IN-

I am wearing some today :) Thank you Express for making a jean that I now own in 4 colors (remember this post, same jean, shhh, don't tell). I was skeptical at first, because I have been married to my black slimming skinnies for a long time, what would white do for my legs? I always wondered. I bought these and love 'em. I usually wear them like I did today, with a wedge. Cute, trendy, fun and very Spring and Summer (and with temps of 78 I feel like they are a-okay). Note- There are no front pockets, which always gets me when I put these on, but it's so you don't see the pocket liner through the pants. When you wear 'em just BE SURE you're wearing a good pair of undies. VPL is a major issue if you are not careful.

Angelia, Brad's Fiance- OUT-

I've never liked her (who would date and self inscribe Billy Bob Thornton name on themselves), I don't think she is all that talented, and she does not have the world's best lips. Okay enough soap box. BUT Let's be honest this is all so cliche- fell in love on set, adopted kids, and have a charming mixed super star family.... That's enough about them- I'm over Brangelina.

Crop Shirts- OUT-

I try to be stylish, but this one I can NOT stand behind. I just get confused, do I wear a shirt under, or not? Why do cropped long sleeves exist? Also for people, like myself, who have bodies that are ill proportioned (insert obnoxiously long torso here please) crop shirts leave you looking confused. A shirt that only covers your boobs with a shirt under????? Yeah I can't even write about them- this is how much they confuse me.
