And then my Entire Wardrobe Jumped in my Suitcase

I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but I am heading to Chicago tomorrow for a Bachelorette party (to celebrate the one in the middle). And you know I'm spending a solid 56 hours there, and somehow my entire wardrobe jumped into my suitcase.  Just how many dresses and shoes can a girl wear in that time frame?  I guess we'll find out. Also packing college dresses and 5 inch heels make me both  anxious makes me nostalgic, as if I haven't mentioned that before.

The Nordstrom Semi Annual is happening right now, need I say more???
What did you buy? I know Andrea just got her orders in!!!

Vinyasa yoga is MUCH harder than I ever thought? Seriously I think I sweat just as much in Vinyasa as I did in Bikram.  Like how the eff do people do this on the daily?

I just made these (the curtains for those of you wondering what 'these' was referencing) this weekend. I was going to post pictures of each step, but I followed the instructions in this link exactly, so there was really no need.  Not to shabby for $41 of fabric.  Crate and Barrel ain't got nothin' on me, now if only our couch were here, oh the excitement of adult life.
Insert awesome couch here!!!

Been tempted by Stitch Fix recently, can't decided if I should go for it, or continue to style myself.
Any recommendations? Positives, negatives? I'd really like to know about how many items you (all you stitch fixers out there) buy every month, and if you find yourself wearing said item(s)?

I'm more nostalgic than I thought, two posts this weekend with pictures of me with long hair?

Also while I'm gone dancing in Chicago this weekend, my boyfriend, his Dad, brother, and family friend will be rebuilding our back deck, but if you followed me on instagram you'd already know this. Did I pick an awesome weekend to be gone or what?

DIY Baby Shower Party Favors on a Budget

I'm going to be an Aunt, and we just had a Baby Shower for Reese.
(Her name hanging on the nursery wall, it's official)

I've been worked for the weeks on planning on the details.
And let me tell you this stuff can add up quick.
Decorations, Food, Desserts, Drinks, Prizes
You get the picture..

We did a good job keeping everything fairly economical for the most part.
That being said I was in charge of favors, and I didn't want to spend too much.
I googled some ideas, but the nothing seemed really exciting to me, and everything seemed pricey.
And then I had a light bulb idea, a moment of brilliance if you will.

And here you have it
$24.75 dollars for 28 favors.
 Not even joking.
Let me break it down for you:
2 packs of 14 degradable pots (Home Depot)- $6
2 packs clear party bags @ $4/pk. from Target- $8
3 packs of Basil seeds @ $2/pk. (Home Depot)- $6
Ribbon (One spool Michaels)- $3
Paper for tags (2 sheets @ $.79/sheet)- $1.75
They are particuarly apporirate for a Spring shower, or so I thought, especially
with garden planting season just around the corner.
And people LOVED 'em.

What have you given for favors?
Any good tips???

SPD: Burlap Wreath

I saw this wreath and NEEDED it.
How welcomed would you feel if that was hanging on someone's door?

So, off to Michaels I went,
I case you haven't read this post, I've been there A LOT recently.

This wreath frame was $4.99
And this burlap was $5.99
Secure the burlap with crafting wire.
There was truly no specific technique I used, simply bunch, and secure.
(side note: there is more burlap in the pack than you think)
Once I was done bunching and securing, I looped all the excess around the entire wreath.
This was the final burlap wrapping product.
I bought these decorate balls on super sale way back when (here).
Similar balls available here.
I haven't used them for anything, and they came in handy for this project.
Secure balls on to wreath with SERIOUS amounts of hot glue.
Don't be shy ladies, you'd rather have the balls super secure, than falling off.
I'm a REALLY good photographer.
Can't you tell???
Now bow and arrange ribbon.
Secure with wire and hot glue (whichever works better for you).
and there you have it..
Not quite as ornate, but a simple addition to warm up the front door.
And welcome all our guests.

Anyone else tried a burlap wreath?
Any tips?
I'd love to see what you have done.

Heart On the Wall

I saw this on pinterest.

And immediately thought to myself, "Michaels anyone???"
So I went, and $57 dollars later, I came out with the supplies with this craft, and three others!!!

Insert Saw It, Pinned It, Did It here.
Love this link up from Keep Calm and Carry On

Here's my version of what I saw
 With a SMALL twist.
Step by Step.

1. Tape canvas to make stripes
 2. Paint the stripes
(you might need two coats, I did two just for safety)
 3. Let dry and remove the tape
4. Get buttons ready for design
 5. Arrange buttons & start to glue (I used Jewel-It that I had from other crafts)
 6. Let it dry, and viola.

I think the next time I will do one more similar to the one on pinterest,
but for a first time canvas craft-er, I'll take it.

It you get this as a gift sometime in the near future, don't be surprised...

And all I have to say is

Saw It
Pinned It
Did It

Boo-yah!!!

Oh and Michaels, I'm coming back this weekend

Happy Thursday!!!

DIY: Holiday Wreath

I ain't no Martha Stewart, but I did make a pretty festive Holiday Wreath this weekend.

All the supplies are from Michaels and cost me a whopping $20, which is way less than any wreath (ugly or cute) that you'll find in stores around the Holiday season.

Here are some of the supplies I used, nothin' fancy
The wreath it's self was only $7.99

These are the two main ingredients
Wreath and Wire (it's very thin, easily twistable wire)

I then grabbed a few fake pointsettias, glitter berries, decorative wreath accesorries, none of which exceeded $1.99 each.

Here's a picture of the final product and my dining room craft table when I was done.
Glitterlicious is all I gotta say about that

BOOM
Holiday Spirit for our front door
It's not the worlds best more most attractive door decor, but for $20 I'll take it.
And anything that involves bejewling or crafting makes me happy,
so let's be honest it was a great decision.

Hope you all had a fabulous day.
I went on a Mini vacation yesterday.
NBD.

More to Come on this later.
Happy Thursday!

DIY: Get A Organized Garage

So most of you were thinking the DIY might be something totally cute and adorable.
Nope, sorry.
But it's something totally practical and AWESOME.
So listen up.

We're on a quest to make our garage awesome functional, which I guess would be awesome.
 So awesome it is.
It was just so full of stuff from here or there, boxes I never unpacked when I moved in, forgotten about things, you know typical garage stuff.

But, we decided we wanted to us it for it's actual purpose. A garage.
So a this week we cleared the whole thing out, and made piles.
A his pile, a her pile, a dump, throw away, and donate pile, you get the idea.

Yup those are my skis :)

We, and this time the we is he and his dad, insulated the whole thing, and put up drywall. Yay for drywalled garages. And they also sealed all the cracks in the concrete.

Today we, yes I am back in this DIY, leveled the recently filled cracks, swept, and vacuumed, and used super degreaser stuff to ensure the floor was ready to be sealed.

Tomorrow we get to roll on the seal, that has speckles in it to finish the floor.
Then we'll put the cabinets (old ones from the kitchen), and the fridge (pre-remodel fridge) back in, and viola.

I'm just excited we're making progress on the house.
It's ALL coming together.

This is what I (with the help of others) picked out this weekend.
Ordering it this week from RC Willey.
Hello new friend, you're going to look great in the hallway!!

I guess is what grown up is like, house projects on the weekend, and furniture shopping.
Good news is I am totally okay with it.
Because both were fun!!!

Hope you had a great weekend!!!
